Places to find more information about Triangulation and
Levelling
This page lists many of the varied sites I have come across in my
persuit of information about trigpoints and maps in general, I hope they are
useful! (They are not in any particular order, just as they come)
-
- This has moved to its own page here
- but couldn't forget to mention the
Ordnance Survey, who have made
all this possible
-
- Just what are Trigpoints anyway?
-
- bench-marks.org.uk -
database of OS benchmarks - particually FB's, with logging
- This is still an early development site, but promises to be
definitive source for BM details!
- My own Levelling section of
TrigTools. Partically strong on the Second Geodetic
Levelling
- OSBM - msn group where
you can find pictures of many Flush Brackets used during Levelling
activities.
- Fayers - site listing
locations of most of the Fundermental Benchmarks. Also used to compile the
FBMlist.
- What type of BenchMarks/Flush Brackets are there?
-
Just what are Passive Stations?
- They are the markers used GPS positioning, many are reused
Triangulation Pillars and Fundermental Benchmarks, see
here.

DISCLAIMER: I developed this
tools for my own use, so they don't look that pretty. I hope they work fine,
but there may well be bugs. Please email me if you find any... All the
programs are hand developed, but the data used is borrowed from other
locations, namely the Trigonomy Yahoo Group and
trigpointinguk.com, thanks to them
for making the data available.
